RE:- 1UP Whiteboard Episode 01
I saw this from @clingermangw yesterday
RT @debreuil: hilarious description of XBox indie games (#XNA) - love it! [url-snip]
and I loved it as well... (more after the jump)
And the thing of it is what he says is true, apart from the bit about XNA devs being crazies, OK so some of us are but not all of us.
The reaction of some has also been rather funny, mainly because I think they missed the point that I think he was going for and that is there are a few games that are over priced tat with crap graphics/game play/sound. He shouldn't have used Pixel Man because it's Nick and everything he does is magic...shut up! I like his work, even if he seems a little grumpy at times.
But the overall point that I think he was going for was that as a community we're starting to put out better games, with the exception of video & slide shows. But even here Microsoft is also making the system better for us as well with the recent Updates to Peer Review Guidelines and the long awaitted Ratings system, Xbox Live Indie Games area is becoming something we as developers can stand a chance of making some real money, and articles like this one can only bring us more attention, lets not disappoint anyone who comes looking.

Aside from the shot at Nick I think the video hit some strong points. The service HAS been tripe, but the momentum is shifting.
I’m not sure what’s caused this shift though. Is it just development cycles on solid projects finally coming to a close? Is it an average maturing of the developers? I dunno. I still see a lot of projects thrown up there daily, and I have to wonder… where’s the pride?
I look forward to see how it continues to develop, though.
